چکیده

In this work, we employ the GVAR model in order to analyze demand aspects of a multimodal public transportation system. The methodology is applied to the Athens region, Greece. GVAR provides a relevant econometric modelling framework for assessing relationships between economic entities, such as transportation modes, by analyzing the relative shocks and channels of transmission mechanisms among them. According to our findings, which are consistent with the existing literature, the system of all public transportation modes in the wider Athens region, is relatively flexible to unexpected – intramodal or macroeconomic – shocks. 2015 Elsevier Ltd. In knowledge-based economy, knowledge has a public good and non-rivalry nature. Firms build their own knowledge stock not only by means of internal R&D and collaboration with partners, but also by means of previously spilled over knowledge of other firms and public research laboratories (such as universities). Firms based on their absorptive capacity, and level of intra-industry and extra-indus...

Modelling Export Dynamics in the CSEE Countries Using GVAR Model

The paper investigates the key factors of export dynamics for a set of Central and Southeast European (CSEE) countries in the context of current economic and financial crisis. In order to model the export dynamics a Global Vector Auto Regressive (GVAR) model is defined. As opposed to models which model each country separately, the GVAR combines all country models in a global model which enables...
